I went to a few of these in the early 90's in Birmingham, they're called bashment parties, they let us off for being white because we knew G.O.D. security (stand for good order and discipline and we were also breakers). They were also called blues parties .. we went to these to drink room temperature cans of red stripe after we'd paid £3 admission so we could relax ..

Need some time regression. My head and heart are spinning around one another in an unhealthy dance currently.

Discovered this yesterday and I just love it. Normally I don't 'get' Arctic Monkeys music (except Cornerstone) but I love The Last Shadow Puppets and when I heard this it just had that wonderful 60s vibe, both in the video and the song, that it sounds so much like TLSP, I think that's why I love it so much. :)

Miles Kane (t'other 'alf of TLSP of course) also has a new video out so double bonus :D)

^Thanks for posting that Vera Lynn song...I was not familiar with her even though I have heard the name mentioned over the years and various songs used in films ,etc. I looked her up on Wiki to educate myself.

My paternal grandmother was a big fan of Vera Lynn. I note Vera is still with us, having celebrated her 100th birthday last year. Good for her!

That song was listened to by both Commonwealth and German forces during the desert war and then adapted with local lyrics by the old sweats who moved across and up the boot of Italy in late '43 to 45.
