I buy sports socks in bulk from Sports Direct. Usually Nike or Slazenger, the 'half cushion' style with the towelling effect underneath. You can have just black or assorted colours and they last well and are really comfy.
I'm walking around all day at work in Para boots and the sports socks and my feet are in perfect condition.
You have to change them every day for the best use as they soak up the old foot-sweat but they're not dear. I've had some for years.

They also do brilliant trainer socks. Don't buy running socks though as they are too padded and your shoes won't fit.

The following Universal Monster Movie Box sets - Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, The Mummy - each box set contains six or eight of the Universal Studios classic Monster movie series from the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's. If I am not heard from in a while, it's because I am binge viewing quality movies!

After being really torn over whether to buy a PS4 or not, regular readers will know that I went for it a couple of months ago. And then yesterday this happened:

I went mental and bought the VR headset and camera. And all I can say is WOW! It is wicked. OK - some of the demos I've tried look blocky and quite "back to basics" (think NES) but some of them are just mind blowing. It's my birthday soon so I justified the purchase with my wife as it being my birthday present.

If you haven't tried it yet you're all welcome round my house tonight for a go. Bring crisps and cider.

I'm currently collecting the free Lego cards from my Sainsburys shopping trips with a view to making them into a Lego tarot pack.
The glittery ones, like a monkey, panda and double decker bus can serve as the Major Arcana and the rest like the Hippie, Leprechaun, Rapper, Medusa, Hula Dancer etc should suffice to predict even the most unlikely modern events.
Unfortunately I seem to be getting a lot or swapsies. The Carpenter seems to be turning up a lot in each pack. I think that's probably Jesus.

A very small bike pump you can keep in your seat post. It is held in place by means of operating a screw to expand a rubber ring, which then squeezes against the internal bore of the post. I'm concerned.

A double CD Donovan compilation and a double CD Doors compilation. The Doors compilation was marked up at £12.99 but the checkout only charged me £7.99.

Two CDs - yep, I'm old school: Emily Barker's Sweet Kind of Blue 2CD edition and Vashti Bunyan's Some Things Just Stick In Your Mind - £13 and £10 respectively. But I've just got the CD player and amp out of storage, the turntable and speakers will be down from the loft soon and it's all systems go for the music system in our new extension - which doesn't have a party wall with the neighbours so I can play it at a reasonable volume. I don't do loud anyway, as I'm too polite for that!

Yeah, but that's got a quick release fastener, plus I have to strip it down to get it in or out of the house/car anyway as it's a 23" frame. Aside from which there's not really anywhere else to put it on the bike. The frame is all funny angels.

I forget that everything's quick release these days. Mine is strictly old school needing allen keys to get bits off. Still, must be a very small pump - have you tried it yet to see how effective it is & how knackered you get pumping to the required pressure?

I'd like some funny angels as well.

I even thought of the Rich Hall angel/angle thing when I typed that word.
No, I haven't, and I hope I never have to. It is tiny. Teeny in fact.

Your tiny pump is very much analogous to nuclear weapons in this respect. Are you prepared for first use?

I am reconciled to the fact that it may come to it. Of course you can never be sure until you're actually in that situation. But yes, I believe I have it in me.

A case of 18 mixed Belgian beers from Beer Hawk. The average strength is around 9.5%, so I'll be seeing you all on Monday.
