Dex after his recent run-in with Lord Voldemort.
Good scar though.
Looks like a Heidelberg duelling scar.
Send him for a catscan to be on the safe side.
This cat's determination paid off:
At first glance this photo is rather disconcerting but the accompanying text explains it:
It reminds me of this:
Its a proud wound. He certainly wasn't running away. Juna on the other hand has a puncture wound near her rear left hip joint. I would say she was on her back and fending off Koi and he bit her.
My friend is going to get a little black kitten who has conjuct, cant spell the rest, anyway, she is going to make it better and if she doesn't keep it, I will have it, I am thinking of names now
Boy or girl?
She has no idea
At the mo I like Angel for a girl and maybe Diablo for a boy, but that can all change
Good on you for your kindness.
You'd feel a right pillock yelling that down the garden at 03.00
Thank you, I adore black uns, I just hope the Raptor gets on with it
, thank you
We all know these lil habits, I particularly like the egg one
Looks like the kitty is ok, and we think someone is adopting it, if not i have said bring it to me, so i still don't know if he/she is coming to live with me
Considering buying a new puss puss, I asked the eldest for her thoughts on possible names.
"Soap", says she.
This cat in particular & baby chicks, what are they like ?
*blobs tongue out back at kitty*
Hardcore Cat Training on Awful Library Books!
At work yesterday someone gave me a full bag of cooked chicken portions, barbecue flavour. Like one of those hot snack pick-up packs from the supermarket. Went down very well INDEED with the moggies.
I have some cat strangeness to report.
We’ve got two cats at the moment, the older one (Dex) we’ve had since he was a kitten. He’s 12 years old now, and has always been ‘my’ cat. He’s always waiting on the drive for me to come home, at night he sleeps either on me or by my feet, sits on my lap when I’m playing PlayStation etc. I know him pretty well.
Dex is fiercely territorial and guards the cat flap with his life. Whenever he hears it go, he legs it from anywhere in the house to check it out. Even when it was his dear departed sister (Mixa) or his current adopted sister (Neela), he’ll still make an attempt to keep them out. If it’s a non-resident they don’t stand a chance, and the same cat rarely attempts it twice.
Last night, we’d just switched the lights off at around 10.30 - MrsCarlos was asleep and Dex was snoring away next to me – when I heard a minor cat flap noise. Dex was awake and out of the bedroom in a second, and I heard a succession of faint meowing. Assuming it was Neela and they were having their usual half-hearted stand-off, I thought nothing of it and dropped off to sleep.
A bit later I stirred, aware that Neela was on the bed but I could still hear the cat conversation. In the hallway, Dex was sitting a good few metres from the cat flap, meowing softly in the direction of the cat flap.
And just inside was another black cat. A black cat which looked quite like Dex. Jet black all over, a slight band of grey around its neck, possibly where it once wore a collar. They were happily chatting away to each other, tails down, relaxed. Normally Dex would have been over there in a screaming ball of fur and claws, but not this time.
The cat looked me up and down, and headed outside. Dex came back to the bedroom.
For the next two hours, until 12.30ish this happened constantly. The flap would go, Dex would run off, cat chatter, I appear, cat disappears. The last couple of times I switched on the outside light and mystery cat would be sat by the house wall.
Eventually I fell asleep until the alarm went off at 6am.
Guess who’s still in the garden, six hours later….
Thinking that it may be injured, I woke MrsCarlos and told her to look. The cat, which had been happy around me, took one look at her and legged it. Just like Dex does.
And apparently vanished into the ether. It ran down the side of the house and should have appeared through the side gate (where I was waiting). It never appeared.
In the light, it struck me how similar this cat was to Dex. The same build, colouring, eyes, even the miaow sounded the same. It was like Dex, but older.
He never reacts to cats in this way, I’ve never seen him back down.
Was this future Dex, travelled back in time to pay us a visit?
I was making opinions as I read that and thought "can't spell? he's only a kitten of course he can't spell". I clearly didn't form much of an opinion as to the kitten having conjuct!
Also, obviously it's Angel for a boy. And yes, I am indeed a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer! so it's only right that a girl would be called Buffy or Willow.
Note to self: get more cats!
If I had a huge house in the middle of nowhere i would have loads of black kitties, i would take in other colours* strays as well, but black is adorable
*nope, spellcheck, colours is spelt correctly
Definitely. Or a ghostly forbear?
Yankee Doodle spellcheck?
