Do you have an amazing, wierd, embarrassing, and/or gross story of an unintentional self-inflicted accident or injury that you or someone you know underwent?

Did you (or they) survive to tell the amazingly interesting story?

We are making a new national television program about astonishing true stories and we'd like to hear about it...

I managed to bruise a few ribs falling off an exercise bike. Completely sober at the time too.

I was just recovering from the trauma of my embarrassing, amazing, self-inflicted injury

when I became fodder for a TV production company and told my astonishing true story to a new national television program

    Guilt became shame

Not for enlightenment but for entertainment.

and I didn't survive to tell my amazingly interesting story again.

A few years ago I was in a club on the dancefloor. It was metal night so the dancing was pretty "lively".
I jumped in the air and slipped on the way down, I fell sideways and whacked my head on a wall promptly knocking myself out and giving myself concussion.
I then had the pleasure of sitting the in hospital for 6 hours the next day whilst they checked me over.

Gee, wacky and zany, grossed-out and true-to-life television. I'm -like- so impressed!

Once, when I was knee high to my pet dingo's entrails, I sliiped on a fresh kagaroo skin rug and fell over. My head went one way and my legs went the other way, and I knocked over me dad who happened to be shooting at at a noisy Koala bear up a tree, an' he missed the bear right? Shot the production assistant standing left-of-camera straight through, he did...

Yes, but since it's embarrassing, why should I want to appear on a television show to advertise it?

once on a really cold morning I sliped on ice as i was running for a bus and fell over bruising my knee

There was an old lady getting on the bus who looked over and saw the aftermath. It was so embarressing

Dose this mean I get to be on tv and as a result go to premires, dine at the Ivy, get featured in Heat magazine and live the celebrity life style (I hear that once one has apeared on tv one can live off the proceads and fame for the rest of ones life and lounge about all day getting fed pealed grapes by slaves).

A friend of mine, who was more into his funk, had a metal-related injury. He was lsitening to John Peel and Unseen Noise Terror came on. He started jumping around the room and lept out into the hall but he was quite tall and the top of his head smacked against the top of the door frame and he split his head open.

One day, I stubbed my toe as I caught the bus. I was mortified

Later that same day, my friend, she dropped a library book in the reference section and the librarian said 'shhhh' and my friend was all, like, grossed out and embarrassed, you know.

And then we went home and accidentally cut our heads off, but they grew back and now we're fine. 8)

OK Let's re-phrase: We are looking for people with unusual injuries they sustained which, (if they have a sense of humor) they would like to share with us.
Maybe they were teaching gun safety and shot themselves in the foot... or maybe a professional carpenter put a nail through his hand.
It is for a Discovery Channel here in the US, so the program isn't like a reality show on Channel 4...
I doubt you will get "15 minutes of fame" from it, but maybe you can show people these things happen and you are alright now!

Yeah, I'm sure putting a nail through your hand is hilarious. Maybe you had to be there.

How about a programme of mundane injuries? You'd have plenty more material to choose from.

When I was still at school I heard that a teacher had banged their thumb with a hammer as he was trying to hammer in a nail, this was in front of a whole class of children so you can bet he was quite embarressed.

That wasn't the funny part though... He was, get this, the woodwork teacher

True story that, you can use it in your show for free if you like, I can't remember the teachers name though.

Well, there was this time I tripped over my own penis. That was quite embarassing. Especially for the nuns.

Even more embarassing, I didn't even win the semi-final of Australia's Funniest Home Videos with it.

Still, full credit to the guy who won the final. I never would have thought a six year old could lift a jackhammer, let alone hit his own Dad in the groin with it.

a pupil from my school was in the metal work class working on a drill when he looked out of the window and the drill bit drilled through his fist. he only noticed it when it spun his fist round a bit and dragged his arm round. we all stood there in shock but he just turned it off and pulled his hand off it and grinned. he didnt grin after though when the pain kicked in.went in nearly an inch did the steel bit.

I could recount a highly embarassing tale involving a snapped banjo string. But I won't.

Hi everyone! This should be on the coincidence thread. I'm trying to put together a TV show based on real-life embarrassing moments also. I thought it was my own original idea but turns out somebody has already thought of it. Damn!

Oh well, back to the drawing board. Now, where was my note paper for The Funniest Ever Top 100 Animals...
